Interesting locals dive bar. The local flavor is colorful and enjoys good conversation and cocktails. Found two gems here in the food department that should be on Diners, Drive-ins and dives: Opus Bread & Tina's Scotch Egg. They also have Harp beer on tap, which is like impossible to find. Angie the barkeep is awesome.
Hoops may be the best bar in CT. Food is great. People are great. They have the best bartenders all the time. Hayley, Julie, and Lizz always take care of all your needs and are super friendly. Definitely visit if you have never been. Live music every weekend and never a cover!
Hoops is down right fantastic - a world class dive bar! I've sampled food from all the fine restaurants in the Simsbury/Avon area and honestly you cannot go wrong with this place. Plus they serve food until last call 1am during the week and 2am on the weekends - great for my silly afternoon work schedule from 2-10pm.
Hoops & Hops is my favorite dive in the whole world. The crowd is diverse and always interesting, the staff are always hospitable and prepared. Management and ownership are one of kind.. Hoops is in a league of their own.
Staff is friendly, the crowd can be a little shall I say 'unrefined' but honestly who cares - I've talked to a few of them and they're some of the nicest down to earth people. Why spend 4x the money at some of the establishments in downtown Simsbury surrounded by the 1%. Boring. Lame. Nauseating.
