Ample parking lot for a walking trail about 1.5 miles. Good place to stop to bike to the flower bridge, except it was all downhill going!
Great park with a nice view at the summit. Hiking the main trail in a circle is about 4 miles of hilly, sometimes paved, terrain. Good moderate work out.
Beautiful Park! The yellow trail is not so well marked in places. Metacomet Trail passes through the park, and is well marked. Check the weather before you hike, I got soaked from the picnic tables to the parking lot.
This is the main access to Penwood State Park. Hike to the north on the Metacomet Trail or other trails.
Penwood Park is a treasure! The parking lot is often filled to capacity but once on the trails,it never feels crowded.
